Kevin Smith ha anunciado que prepara 'Clerks 3'. Tras haber rescatado de la nostalgia a sus dos personajes más reconocidos, Jay y Silent Bob en el reboot que lleva sus nombres, el director retoma la idea de hacer una tercera parte de la comedia de culto producida en 1994 y que contará con el reparto original.
Ha sido en su cuenta de Instagram donde el director de 'Mallrats' y 'Persiguiendo a Amy' ha confirmado que, esta vez, sí habrá una tercera. Smith publicó una foto con Jay Mewes y Jeff Anderson, ambos protagonistas de la 'Clerks' original. Tras una larga explicación en la que el cineasta comentaba que habían tenido una larga conversación sobre una nueva secuela, finalmente revela que la secuela está en marcha.
Smith revela también que Brian O'Halloran, que interpretó a Dante en las dos anteriores entregas de 'Clerks', también volverá. "Será una película que concluye una saga. Será una cinta sobre cómo nunca eres demasiado viejo para cambiar completamente tu vida", comenta el director.

"Es formidable continuar, ir más lejos, que también es volver. ¡Todos regresaremos a la escena del delito!", declara, para después detallar que el guión de 'Clerks 3' será completamente nuevo y no tendrá nada que ver con la versión que había barajado inicialmente y que no pudo llevar a cabo después de que Jeff Anderson se negase a participar.
UN GUIÓN DISTINTO AL DE LA SECUELA FALLIDA
"No será el antiguo guión que hicimos hace unos años, sino otro completamente nuevo que comencé escribir la noche pasada. ¡Es como hacer un sueño realidad! Después de haber arreglado rencillas con Ben Affleck a inicios de este año, esperaba poder hacer lo mismo con Jeff", explicaba Smith, mostrando que se había reconciliado con Jeff Anderson.
'Clerks' es considerado un clásico de culto de la comedia independiente de los años 90. En 2006 llegó la segunda parte, mostrada fuera de competición en la Selección Oficial del Festival de Cannes y que no fue recibida con el mismo entusiasmo que su predecesora. De momento, Kevin Smith no ha revelado una posible fecha de estreno de 'Clerks III'.
