Matt Damon interpretará a Loki... en el regreso de Jay y Bob El Silencioso

En 1999, el director Kevin Smith estrenó Dogma, la historia de los ángeles Bartleby (Ben Affleck) y Loki (Matt Damon) que se enfrentaban al exilio del reino de los cielos. Ahora, con el estreno de Jay y Bob El Silencioso Reboot, Loki está de vuelta en la tierra, tal y como ha confirmado su director.

Gracias a unas publicaciones de Instagram, los fans se dieron cuenta de que Damon había estado en el rodaje de la próxima película de Jay y Bob el Silencioso, pero su papel no había sido revelado. Ha sido el propio Smith quien lo ha confirmado en Instagram, agradeciendo a su esposa por darle la idea de recuperar a Loki, aunque éste murió en Dogma.

If you’ve seen the @jayandsilentbob trailer (link in my bio) then you know #mattdamon came back! Matty was part of the fun in #jayandsilentbobstrikeback so when we started #JayAndSilentBobReboot, we reached out to Matt to see if he wanted to return to the scene of the crime. When he confirmed, I started thinking about how to best use good Will Hunting and which role he could play. Then @jenschwalbach suggested “Why don’t you use him as Loki?” I scoffed like a hardcore Kevin Smith fan, replying “I can’t play with Loki. Loki died.” Jen smiled and said “Well it’s a good thing you don’t know the writer, or else you might be able to change your idea.” And just like that, my wife made the movie better. I asked costume designer @ruckusaurus to put together a Loki-looking ensemble, found a church, and broke out my life size Dogma action figure. "Le pedí al diseñador de vestuario que armara un conjunto de vestuario para Loki, encontré una iglesia y armé mi figura de acción a tamaño real de Dogma", explica el director en la publicación. "¡Y con eso pude hacer mini-secuelas para todas mis películas del universo View Askew!. ¿Quieres ver cómo se junta todo?", añade en referencia a la ingente cantidad de cameos de Reboot.

Por supuesto, no hay que confundir el personaje de Dogma con la versión de Loki del Universo Marvel, de la cual curiosamente el propio Damon hizo un cameo en Thor: Ragnarok, donde interpretaba al Maestro del Engaño en una representación teatral en Asgard.

Jay y Bob el Silencioso Reboot, escrita y dirigida por el propio Kevin Smith, llegará a los cines el próximo 15 de octubre de 2019.
